Our verdict
The best value in countertop RO if hot water matters to you - one cartridge a year and a built-in kettle. We dock it for certification paperwork that contradicts itself on Waterdrop's own page; the filtration itself is conventional, proven RO.
Specifications & certification
| Type | Countertop reverse osmosis with instant hot water |
| How it works | A single 6-in-1 composite cartridge does the work - no cartridge Tetris. A 5-litre feed tank sits at the back, and the front dispenses water from 41F up to 203F at preset volumes, which makes it a kettle replacement as much as a filter. |
| Certification status | Waterdrop's page heading states the system is certified by IAPMO R&T to NSF/ANSI 372 (low lead). Note: Waterdrop's own spec tables elsewhere on the page say NSF/ANSI 58 - the two wordings conflict, and we report the heading claim rather than the stronger one. |
| Filter life | Single WD-K19RF cartridge, 12 months (about 1,000-1,100 gallons) |
| Replacement filters | WD-K19RF cartridge, $68.99 |
| Running cost | $68.99/yr - one cartridge, once a year |
| Flow / pace | 75 GPD membrane; pure-to-drain ratio 3:1 |
| Size | About 13.8 x 7.9 x 16.3 in, 16 lb |
| Power & plumbing | Plug-in (heating element draws real power - it is a hot-water appliance) |
| Warranty | 1-year warranty |
What it claims to reduce
These are Waterdrop's own published figures, graded by the certification status above - we do not run a lab, and we do not upgrade a brand's wording.
- Reduces TDS, nitrate, fluoride, arsenic, lead and chlorine (third-party lab tested, per Waterdrop)
- 6-stage filtration with 0.0001-micron RO membrane
- UV light in the dispensing path (K19-H)
Strengths
- Instant hot water at set temperatures - superb for tea and pour-over
- Lowest running cost of the countertop RO group
- Simple one-cartridge maintenance
Trade-offs
- Certification wording on Waterdrop's own page is inconsistent (372 vs 58)
- PFAS is not listed among the system's tested claims
- The ambient-only K19-S is discontinued - hot model only
